Growing up on a farm in the suburbs of Philly, Dr. Claytor’s path to medicine started at an early age through the care of animals. With a constant drive and fascination to learn, as a teen he rode his bike to the community hospital every Saturday to volunteer. This passion for learning has become a common thread woven throughout his career with Dr. Claytor establishing himself as a respected authority in plastic surgery through his extensive contribution to professional publications and research studies.

After obtaining his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Claytor completed a Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, followed by a Hand and Micro-Surgery Fellowship at the prestigious Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. After ten years in private practice in New England, Dr. Claytor—a Philadelphia area native, joined Dr. R. As Chief of Plastic Surgery for Main Line Health and a board-member of The Aesthetic Society, Dr. Claytor has the ability to provide his patients and educate his peers with the most up-to-date, cutting-edge care that yields exceptional, natural-looking results.
